We've had a first hand look at this range of limited edition laptop sleeves and we think they're a pretty unique way to give your laptop or Mac a new lease of life. Six gorgeous designs and excellent quality thick neoprene make these Australian-made sleeves part fashion statement, part practical accessory.

We've been having a look at the current market for some less obvious choices...
We spotted this range of solar powered laptop bags over at one of our favourite stores, eBags, recently.
The range of Juice bags includes a tote style funky beach bag for surf girls, an urban camo messenger for the chic geek, a business folio for the young professional and a red and black messenger made from... wait for it.... recycled soda bottles.
That's right, apparently Juice have come up with a laptop bag that not only powers your gadgets using free solar energy, each one manufactured also prevents 8 plastic bottles from ending up in landfill.
This retro tote from Orla Kiely caught the eye of the womens laptop bag team recently.
Well, you can hardly miss it can you! Made from printed and sealed PVC with leather trim, we haven't seen anything else quite like it.
Orla Kiely is renowned for her innovative and quirky designs and this is little gem no exception.
At £105.00 it's not exactly cheap, but for a top designer name probably quite appropriate.
I was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the Belkin NE-LB women's laptop bag.
If you asked me to imagine a women's laptop bag that retails in the UK for less than £30, my cartoon thought bubble would contain something cheap-looking and fairly uninspiring.
I certainly didn't expect a stylish yet practical accessory packed with as many excellent features as this bag.
They say small is beautiful, but it can also be flippin' hard to find!
Everyone's talking about the Asus Eee PC at the moment, which I must say does look quite handy.
With a choice of 7-inch and 9-inch screens, this is just the kind of device women on the move can make use of.
Maybe it's because it's new technology, or maybe the manufacturers just think women Eee PC owners will just drop it into their handbag, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of cases or bags for these cute little babies!
We found the one pictured here and a couple of others, but the choice of colours and styles is very limited to say the least.
If anyone comes across a pretty little women's case for an Eee PC be sure to let us know!

I just found out that MazeDirect currently have a Buy One Get One Free offer on all gifts, including women's laptop bags from their Brescia and Palermo range. I'm not sure how long it's on for though, when we have more news I'll post it up.
Shown here is a pink women's laptop case from Palermo.
There's something undeniably cool about a hemp laptop bag, as I discovered recently when the kind folks at Sativa Bags sent one of their new range for me to have a look at.
As a material, hemp has a simple, uncomplicated quality that is at odds with all the modern technology we tote around.
It feels strangely comforting to carry something that's not plastic, vinyl, nylon or in any way man-made...
Set sail for summer with some cool laptop bag designs from leading manufacturers such as Crumpler, Kipling, Pratesi and Port.
This rather tasty laptop bag should suit women everywhere with it's casual combination of honeycomb quilted nylon/leather exterior and well kitted out interior with numerous compartments.
As we all know, women like somewhere to put stuff - this laptop bag features twin side pockets for your battered copy of Cosmo or Elle!
And with 30% off this is a lot of bag for your money.

I couldn't help noticing that when Cassie went off to NYC in episode 9 of the hit Channel 4 show Skins, she took a very niceSativa rucksack with her.
Sativa are a very green organisation, producing a whole range of hemp-based bags and accessories, and their placement in shows such as Skins affirms their fashionable status.
Pictured here is the 17 inch laptop bag in Ice. The range includes some really nice bags for men and women.
Check out the range of hemp bags at Sativa.
Fashion women Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss have both been involved in lost bag mix-ups at Heathrow recently. (Kate Moss apparently lost two prototype designer bags worth around £3,000!)
It was by chance I discovered Personal Porter recently who offer to transport your luggage 'safely and reliably' to wherever you want in the world, allowing you to travel with only hand luggage and bypass the carousel. When you arrive at your destination your luggage is already waiting for you.
I had a quick trawl through the good old www to see what's available in the way of funky red laptop bags...Just because I was in a red kind of mood!

It's not often that red and classy go hand in hand, but this Brescia red leather laptop bag achieves it. Fits notebooks up to 15 inch, and the inside protective padding is also removable so you can use it as a straightforward briefcase too.

Technically this isn't a laptop bag. But this range by Ducti is so cool it gets a mention anyway! If you're looking for a bag that makes a statement this is it - take your pick of different international destinations. Each one delivered to you in its own pizza box. Hmmm tasty!
Price: £24.95
City messenger bag available from Ducti.co.uk

The only problem I see with Crumpler bags is that they're everywhere! Although that usually means that something is very good...This is a very versatile bag that fits laptops from 12 inch right up to 17 inch widescreen and is the usual quality you'd expect from Crumpler.
Price: £ 94.99
Crumpler Laptop Bag available from Play.com

This sleek, moulded hardshell case has wide comfortable straps and plenty of storage for most laptops up to 17 inch, and room for related accessories. Tough enough to withstand the usual bumps and bangs around town.
Price: £89.99
Axio Red Laptop Case available from LaptopShop.co.uk
BUILT NY laptop cases really are a bit different. For a start they're made out of wetsuit material and neoprene. Why? Well the neoprene provides the tough core of the bag while the outer cover is Strong-Rib which is tough (designed as a wetsuit material to resist coral abrasion), shock-absorbent and feels ooooh so nice!
The case has a removable core sleeve to protect your computer and four extra pockets for accessories.
The design of the bag features convex curved corners to allow for extra padding and protection and is sure to raise a few eyebrows next time you take it to a meeting! This portfolio laptop bag will accept laptops up to 15 inches; the material also has a slight stretch to it so you can squeeze those extra bits and bobs in too.

When I think about whether to take a laptop on holiday or not, a big part of me wants to scream 'Noooooo!'. That's the part of me that believes holidays are about escaping the day-to-day grind in pursuit of a simpler, better way of living. But then another, more pragmatic part of me wonders whether it might just come in handy.
Childhood holiday memories of France and Spain were all about good old-fashioned outdoors fun. Camping, cycling, swimming in the pool and general mucking about were always on the agenda. Surfing the web was not.
In fact the closest you got to modern technology was ringing granny from a payphone to tell her you arrived safely!
However, in today's world high-speed communication is never far away. Hotel rooms have wireless broadband, campsites have internet access and mobile phones roam.
So apart from the fact that you can, is there any real reason to take a laptop on holiday?
Well there's the kids, if you have them. A rainy afternoon can pass more quickly if you can slip a DVD on for them. And of course the various games they can play on it while you're waiting in the check-in queue at the airport or stuck in traffic on the motorway.
Storing and editing photos is another reason many people like to take a laptop away with them. Many of us are happy to wait until we return home to check out our snaps, but anyone who is into digital photography as a hobby would find a laptop indispensable on holiday for both additional storage and editing capabilities.
Lastly there's the information resources that the net provides. Those travelling to far-flung places may take some comfort in knowing they have information to hand in their own language. Currency conversions, translating, route mapping and tourist information are all available online.
Does that mean I'll be taking a laptop with me on holiday?
Maybe, maybe not - but one thing's for sure if I do, I won't be checking my emails! Being out of touch is one of the best things about being on holiday!
Just remember, if you do take your laptop away, make sure to invest in a good quality laptop travel bag or laptop flight case.
Essentials4Travel is a good place to look for travel laptop bags.
The biggest problem with flight cases is lack of room for accessories, and the Dicota is no exception. However, unlike some it does have storage compartments for the power supply and a document storage compartment that has enough room for a pad of A4 and maybe a couple of pens.
That said, it is a quality case that will keep your laptop safe in the event of accidental bumps and bangs en route thanks to the solid aluminium casing and high density foam lining.
The product description suggests that 2.9 kilos is lightweight, but I'd suggest that once you have your laptop and power supply in there as well and you've walked from check-in to departure lounge you might not agree. Maybe that's the just the price you pay... at least you're arms get nice and toned carrying it!

OK, so polyester may not be the most glamorous material in the world, but this bag is ideal if for students or older children due to the small price tag.
Although an extremely lightweight bag the Belkin messenger does benefit from internal foam padding to keep things safe, and also has nicely designed detail storage for an mp3 player, pens and business cards. It also has a rubber grommet that you can pass your headphone cable through.
This bag comes in eight other colour combinations but only three are currently available: dove/tarragon, jet/cabernet and chocolate/tourmaline.
Price: £18.99, from misco.co.uk | For more info:Belkin Messenger laptop bag
A practical marriage of practicality and striking design, this is more of a suitcase than a laptop bag, but it has a built-in laptop compartment so is suitable for the business traveller or weekend away. However the design of this case is not your usual plain affair and features funky leather circle with detail stitching. The inside of the case is a rich red.
With a generous 31 litre capacity you'll still have plenty of room for a selection of clothes and other items.
The case has a telescopic handle.
If you are a woman who likes to co-ordinate, there is a matching holdall and suitcase.

The bag shown here is the Vichy in red.
A little on the small side, this one, it will only fit your 12" or 13" notebook, but it does have two extra storage compartments inside for your documents and pens etc. Crafted in full hide leather this model is available in black and red and comes with a detachable shoulder strap
